On The Parade since 2009, keeping it plain.

The story

A firm built on one idea: tell people the price first.

Ledger & Lane opened on The Parade in Norwood in 2009. The firm runs on an idea simple enough to fit on the back of a business card: agree the fee before the work, explain everything in plain English, and treat clients as the experts in their own businesses.

That's still how it works. Every job is a fixed-fee package agreed upfront. There are no hourly rates and no invoices that need a second read.

We work with people who make, fix, cook, treat and design things for a living: tradies, hospitality, health practices and creative studios, plus plenty of families who just want their tax done properly. We learn how your kind of business actually works, so the advice fits.

Today the firm is three partners and a team of 11, based in Norwood and working with clients right across South Australia.

House rules

Four rules we run the firm by.

  1. 1.

    The fee comes first

Every job is a fixed-fee package agreed upfront. You'll know the number before we start, and it only changes if the job does, after we've talked.

  2. 2.

    Plain English, always

If we can't explain it simply, we haven't understood it well enough. No jargon, and no 'as per our previous correspondence'.

  3. 3.

    Your numbers, understood

We do the work and show you how to read it, so your numbers still make sense between our conversations.

  4. 4.

    Near or far

Meet us on The Parade or work with us from anywhere in South Australia. Phone, email and a shared Xero file cover the distance.

The numbers, since you asked.

Accountants should be comfortable with a few figures, so here are ours. We're a chartered firm with three partners and a team of 11, on The Parade since 2009.

We work with tradies, hospitality, health practices, creative studios and families, across Adelaide and remotely around the state.
